Terms of service

These are the terms for using Pub (usepub.com), a service of Productabot LLC, a Florida limited liability company. By making an account you agree to them.

The service

• Pub lets you publish posts on a page we host, send them to people who subscribed, and charge for subscriptions through your own Stripe account.
• Free newsletters are free. On paid subscriptions, Pub keeps 5% of each payment as an application fee, collected through Stripe. Stripe's own fees are yours. We may change the fee with 30 days' notice by email; the new fee applies to payments after that.
• We may limit how many subscribers a publication has, how many addresses can be imported, and how fast email is sent, to keep delivery working for everyone.

Your readers

• You may only email people who asked to hear from you. Addresses you import must have given you permission to email them about this publication; each one receives a confirmation email from Pub and is only added when they click it. Bought, scraped or shared lists aren't allowed.
• Your subscriber list is yours. You can export it at any time. Use it only for this publication, and honour unsubscribes everywhere you use it.
• Too many bounces or spam reports will pause sending for your publication, and may end your account.

Your content

• You own what you publish. You give us the licence we need to host it, send it and show it to your readers, and nothing more.
• You're responsible for it: that you have the right to publish it, and that it's lawful. Don't publish anything that's illegal, that harasses or threatens people, that infringes someone's rights, or that's spam, malware or a scam.
• We can remove content or close publications that break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Payments

• Paid subscriptions are contracts between you and your readers, on your Stripe account. Refunds, disputes and taxes are yours to handle, through Stripe.
• You must keep your Stripe account in good standing and follow Stripe's terms. If your Stripe account can't take payments, paid subscriptions on Pub pause until it can.

Accounts and ending them

• Keep your email account secure; anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
• You can delete a publication at any time from its settings, and ask us to delete your account. We can end accounts that break these terms or that we're required to end.

The usual

• The service is provided as is. We'll do our best to keep it running and to keep your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
• To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the fees you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Disputes go to the courts in Franklin County, Florida.
• If we change these terms, the date at the top changes, and writers with accounts are emailed about anything that matters.
