Pub (usepub.com) is operated by Productabot LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This page covers two kinds of people: writers, who publish on Pub, and readers, who subscribe to them.
Writers
- We store your email address (to sign you in and to reach you about your account), your publications and posts, and your subscriber list.
- If you connect a Stripe account, we store its id and whether it can take payments. Your Stripe account, its customers and its money are yours and are governed by Stripe's terms.
- We send you email about your account only: sign-in codes, and notices about sending problems. No newsletters of our own, unless you subscribe to one.
Readers
- When you subscribe to a publication, we store your email address, the publication, when you subscribed and confirmed, and whether email to you has bounced or been reported as spam.
- If you pay for a subscription, Stripe stores your payment details on the writer's Stripe account. We store the subscription's id and status so we know what to send you.
- The writer can see your address and status. They can export their list, including your address. They agree in our terms to use it only for their publication.
- We don't track whether you open or click emails. We don't sell or share addresses with anyone else.
- Unsubscribe from any email with the link in its footer. To have your address removed entirely, email privacy@usepub.com.
Everyone
- Our servers log requests (address, path, time, errors) for 90 days, to keep the service running and to investigate abuse.
- We use cookies only to keep writers signed in. No analytics or advertising cookies.
- Data is processed in the United States by Amazon Web Services, and payments by Stripe.
- We keep data while the account or subscription exists. Deleting a publication deletes its posts and subscribers. Ask privacy@usepub.com to delete a writer account.
- If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and writers with accounts are emailed about anything that matters.
